Come with me on the ultimate, insiders tour of…Le Tour de France

I’m serious. If you’re into cycling, or the French countryside, or the absolute pinnacle of sports, or most importantly, if you are looking for a joyful diversion from all the nasty stuff that seems to be going on in the world today, I mean it when I say, “Please, come with me on the ultimate, insiders tour of…Le Tour de France.”

We leave tomorrow and the Tour de France portion of the trip (I’ll be diverting from our annual trip to…England) is a literally 1-in-a-million chance to be “in” the Tour de France for three days (stages 5,6, and 7) as a guest of the tour organizers. And I really mean I’ll be “in” the peloton. They have plans for me to be in an official car, behind the barricades, and in helicopters and private planes, the works. And as luck would have it, I’ll also be riding the last 50 miles of stage 7 (up the Col d’Aspin! pictured above) on Friday the 8th.

I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to literally participate in one of the coolest sporting events on the planet, and I sincerely mean it when I say it’s even better when I get to share the wonder with you all. So….I’ll be blogging when I can, but my posts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Vimeo might be the best way to get all the up-to-the-minute-awesomeness delivered right to whatever screen you may be looking at in real-time.

So please join me/ follow me on any and all social media medium you prefer. I promise it’ll be entertaining.
