Mercedes-Benz designers are no strangers to high performance boats. In fact, muscle car fast, Mercedes-AMG “inspired” Cigarette power boats have been around for a while. And come to think of it, futuristically-styled “concept yachts” that look amazing (but never get built) are pretty common too. But that’s what makes the brand new the Arrow460-Granturismo that was designed by Mercedes-Benz in house “style” studio, built by Silver Arrows Marine, and was just launched in the South of France so special. It exists. It’s advanced. It’s very silver. And it represents an entirely new genre of yacht.
The first real-life example of this new breed of yacht (just launched on the waters off Nice in the South of France) is aptly-named Mercedes. And as you can see in the photos, it has classically elegant proportions that Mercedes-Benz automobiles are known for. It also uniquely combines the advantages of an open cockpit with an enclosed-cabin that makes it suitable for day trips and overnight stays on board—in addition to being drop-dead gorgeous.
And quite honestly, I’m hardly surprised. Mercedes-Benz designers have worked with selected partners to develop luxury products outside the automobile industry since 2010, and it could be argued that there are no better examples of luxury products than yachts.
