Jeanneau 64 under sail

Sometimes things just work out….

I wasn’t supposed to be on this trip. Meetings in Boston. Basement remodel. Bidding war for the house of our dreams. Injured ribcage from crazy trip to Bermuda that I also wasn’t supposed to be on…..Yet here I am. Sitting on a bench at the Bitter End Yacht Club. Watching the sun rise, feeling the caffeine slowly trickle into my bloodstream, saying HI! to the new friends I’ve met on this trip to sail a new Jeanneau 64 from St Martin to participate in the Jeanneau Owners Rendezvous that’s currently happening in the BVI….

And not to mention sailing up from Norman Island to Gorda Sound with a pretty famous, and very cool american sailor (that I’ll be writing about in a future post so stay tuned!)

And then….just to put the icing on the cake…who is the first person I see on the dock after our cracking upwind sail to the Bitter End? A friend from college (in U of Colorado way, way back in the 90’s!), with her husband and kids on their first trip to the BVI.

Isn’t life grand?

Do stay tuned. This is only the icing on the cake. But there’s still lots of cake to eat (and ice cream) on the menu too.
