The Top Yachts At The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

Madsummer, Nice, France, 2019

Let’s face it, when it comes to superyachts, Europeans are…spoiled. Many of the largest and most prolific superyacht shipyards are located in Holland, Germany and Italy. And no other destination attracts more of the world’s largest superyachts than the French Riviera and the recent Monaco Yacht Show.

But those of us here in the U.S. are hardly second-class citizens when it comes to superyachts. In fact, several of this year’s hottest (and largest) superyachts are owned by Americans. And some will be at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show that’s just about to start.

The show’s new “Superyacht Village,” which features a dedicated marina and on-land exhibition space at the Pier Sixty-Six Hotel & Marina’s new “Pier South” property, is also making its debut. Madsummer, the 180-foot-long Heesen Vida, 236-foot-long Solo, and yachts from Benetti—including the 116-foot-long Mr. Loui and 125-foot-long Lejos—can be found there.

So, without further ado, here’s a preview of the 16 largest, hottest, fastest and newest yachts that will be at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

Lurssen

The largest yacht in the show is the 311-foot MadsummerShe was built for an experienced American owner and launched earlier this year. The exterior was designed by Harrison Eidsgaard and her interior was designed by Studio Laura Sessa.

Hargrave Custom Yachts

The brand-new 186-foot-long Hargrave Custom Yacht, BABA’S, was built in Turkey and is the largest yacht the company has built thus far. Her wide beam allows for a spacious six stateroom configuration with a full beam on deck master suite, a deluxe VIP suite on the upper deck, and four full guest suites on the lower cabin deck.

Heesen

Heesen’s Vida is a 180-footer that offers five suites and more than 2,500 square-feet of interior space. The exterior design by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects also includes well over 1,000 square feet of ultra-luxe outdoor space.

Damen Yacht Support

The 151-foot-long Damen Yacht Support vessel Joy Rider is available for immediate delivery for anyone looking for the ultimate platform to carry virtually every type of ocean tool, toy, aircraft or submarine.

Majesty Yachts

The Majesty 140 is built in Dubai and making her Ft. Lauderdale debut. She boasts panoramic views, spacious sun decks and balconies and a living room finished in Italian wood and leather.

Astondoa

The Astondoa 100 Century features a spacious flybridge which incorporates an open-air, fully equipped galley with a wet bar and grill and additional bar seating perfect for al fresco dining and entertaining. The galley opens aft to a large teak deck and Jacuzzi, surrounded by sun pads.

Marlow Voyager 100

This brand-new 100-footer from Marlow Yachts is designed to stay at sea for extended passages thanks to redundant systems and hand-built continuous duty engines that are ensconced in dedicated mechanical rooms.

LeVen

The LeVen 90 was created specifically to cruise the Exumas and is the first yacht in the world to implement the Voith Linear Jet propulsion system. The superyacht’s layout has a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces creating a great-room-at-sea experience centered on the galley.

Palumbo Superyachts

The new Extra 86 Fast from Palumbo Superyachts accommodates up to eight guests in four staterooms and four crew members in two cabins at the bow. The layout of the living area includes the galley situated aft which, through a large window with an automatic up/down system, allows direct communication with the outdoor dining area.

Princess Yachts

The all-new Y85 designed by the famous Italian firm Pininfarina is a powerful and comfortable yacht from Princess Yachts that can accommodate up to eight guests four large cabins. The company’s brand new F45 and V50 will also be debuting in Ft Lauderdale.

Ocean Alexander

The 84R is the second model of Ocean Alexander’s new Revolution Series. It’s a collaborative design between Evan K. Marshall and Arrabito Naval Architects.

Ferretti Yachts 720 is built with a heaping helping of Italian style thanks to the design collaboration between architect Filippo Salvetti and Ferretti. Their goal was to create the comfort of a villa at sea. And I can’t wait to see that for myself.

Palm Beach Motor Yachts

The new PB70 is a 70-foot yacht built on a semi-displacement design that was designed to be able to plane more easily. Like all Palm Beach Motor Yachts, it has a welcoming saloon, large windows and the warm glow of golden teak. It also has a top speed of 38 knots and a cruising speed of 32 knots.

The 46 BF is designed to be either an owner/operator or captained Viking. Either way, she’s a ready-to-go fishing machine equipped for inshore and offshore missions as well as a versatile cruising boat with reliable inboard diesel power. And it’s only one of several new models that will be on display in Ft. Lauderdale. Viking’s new 38 Open Billfish, and V-41, V-37, and V-33 outboard powered boats will also be there.
