As was noted earlier this month, the French Riviera is the place to scratch your superyacht itch in September. But the true megayachts (those well over 200-feet-long), don’t really come out to play or to be seen by potential buyers until the Monaco Yacht Show later in the month. And since Monaco is home to the largest number of millionaires and billionaires per capita in the world, it’s only fitting that some of the world’s largest yachts come to show off in the world’s second smallest country that’s synomous with luxury. So here’s only a taste of the over 500 yachts and countless toys (everything from personal submarines to fully enclosed “limousine tenders” that allow yacht owners to go ashore without getting a hair out of place) that will be on display from September 23-26.
The 278-foot-long Solandge that was built by the Lurssen shipyard and launched in 2013 is the largest yacht that will be at the Monaco Yacht Show this year. This striking yacht with the exterior designed by Espen Oeino and the interior designed by Aileen Rodriguez, offers true luxury on six extraordinary decks and is intended to be a home-away-from-home on the high seas.
