Ok. So…I was told the infinity pools go on to infinity here in magical St. Barth. But, whaaaat, this is NOT and infinity pool! However, the villa is at sea level (literally steps from the beach), and I’ve already been lulled into a sence of peace and ease after a refreshing “welcome to St. Barth” swim in the “rimless” pool beneath St Barth’s benevolent palm trees.
And now the games really begin. Les Voiles Des St. Barth kicks off today. As you can see the view from my eggbeater flight over from St Maarten yesterday, the blue of the water and the moody shadows of the coral and our little egg beater plane are almost as relaxing as a beachside “rimless” pool.
St. Maarten’s Simpson Bay is so close…yet so very far…from St Barth. And I’m already impressed with this race. The skippers meeting and kick off party in Gustavia was top-notch. And I really love the graffiti art that was happening in the “tent.”
