Gone Sailin’

Hey folks:

I’m going offline for a while for the best possible reason. We’re heading down to the BVI to charter with Sunsail. The plan is to soak up some sun, snorkel a ton, and sail as part of a Sunsail flotilla. I’ve never participated in a flotilla (cruise in company with a lead boat from Sunsail that knows all the cool places to go as well as other charterers that could be fun to hang out with) before, but it should be a lot of fun. From what I’ve heard, flotillas make chartering easy if you’ve never been the captain your own bareboat before, but the social/fun possibilities should appeal to more experienced charterers as well. I’m going to find out for myself. I won’t be able to blog from the boat–frankly it’ll be nice to get away from the computer for just a little while. But I will be shooting photos and video and will report on how everything went when I get back to the bitter cold of the Northeast.
